At Lokey Volkswagen in Clearwater, FL, it has been a good year for the dealer, and Volkswagen too! The auto maker said October 2011 sales were up 40% over last year, with 28,028 vehicles sold. This is the company's best October sales since 2001, and best year-to-date increase as well, up 24%.

2012's Passat sold 5,040 vehicles in October, which is the first full-month of sales for this Chattanooga-built vehicle. It is also the best sales figures for the sedan since December, 2005. 2012's Beetle sold 1516 units already.  

Volkswagen Jetta sales totaled 13,058 units in October alone, a 52% increase year-to-date.

"As the all-new Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagen Beetle start to enter the market place, demand for Volkswagen vehicles has already exceeded last year's annual volume in the first 10 months of the year, " said Volkswagen President and CEO Jonathan Browning.¹
