New Volkswagen Beetle R Concept Unveiled at Frankfort Motor Show

Volkswagen Beetle R Concept

The Beetle was redesigned for 2012, but Volkswagen isn't done yet. At the Frankfurt Motor Show they unveiled a new R concept which is heavily influenced by the redesigned Beetle.

There are some features, like the front and rear bumpers, which have been extended, that really highlight the unique design of the Beetle R concept. Air intakes have also been added to the bumpers to cool brakes and the engine giving the R concept a sportier look.

Another feature used to keep the Volkswagen Beetle R concept cool are two ventilation slots on either side of the hood.  Perhaps more exciting, though, are the larger rear spoiler (bigger than any production model spoiler), two sets of dual chrome tailpipes, protruding sills tracing the car's profile, and 20-inch Talladega alloy wheels and visible blue brake calipers!

To match the exterior look, the interior of the Beetle R concept has been fitted with motorsport shell seats which are upholstered with black leather. The instrument panel has highlighted gauges that add a touch of style to the interior.

Like all concepts, Volkswagen is not sure if the car will go into production, but it may be a sign of things to come for the classic Beetle. In the meantime, come down to Lokey Volkswagen on 27850 U.S Hwy 19 N, Clearwater, FL 33761 and browse our large inventory of Volkswagen cars.
